Does any know the number for PEST CONTROL?
So for the last few days we have been hearing noises on our roof. Well at least we thought they were coming from our roof as sometimes monkeys like to run across it. We started to question what was going on because monkeys are usually sleeping in the jungle at night and the sound started to seem as if it were coming from not on our roof but in our ceiling. Sure enough we heard scurrying (or slithering) sounds coming from our ceiling. We have called pest control and apparently you can see where a critter could get under the roof and into the space above our ceiling. They have set a trap to catch whatever is there. We have posted some things that it might be. Our question to you is what do you think it is? We will post the "results" as soon as we know them ourselves.

Civet Cat?

A common rat?

A Sumatran Jungle Rat?

The Reticulated Python?

Thanksgiving Picnic
Saturday, after the Pinewood Derby, we had our annual Canadian Thanksgiving get together with our Indonesian Staff and their families. It is really a time we as the teaching staff get to show our appreciation to the national staff by hosting some games and serving them dinner.
Last year we noticed that the turkey we had made went relatively untouched by anyone who wasn't from North America. The Indonesian staff was eating the Kentucky Fried Chicken that we had brought in for their children. This year we wised up and made the main dish KFC. The KFC here is very spicy and was a huge hit with all of the locals. We also made the affair much more casual having it in our gym and playing games outside. In fact more than a few came up to us and said that this year was much better. It was great to see all of the kids mixing together and playing. Lots of fun!

The Rolling Hula Hoop Race
Pinewood Derby
Brooklyn holds her car "The Brooklyn Bomber" and the 3rd place trophy. This Saturday was the famed Pinewood derby. This thing is a big deal around here. As you can see by the 1st picture they go all out. The track is custom built with times going out to the ten thousandths place. If you look at the picture Brooklyn's time was only 1 thousandth of a second slower than the 2nd place car and that was after four rounds of racing. Kade's car, "Silver Storm," made the round of 16. Sydney's car, "Dairy Queen," was not so fast but did get a lot of kudos for the design. It was a fun day of racing.
