How do you cool a pool down in Rumbai?

Today we went to the pool on camp. We have talked in the past of our pool here in Rumbai that is about the temperature of bath water. Somehow it is not the most refreshing feeling when the water is the same temperature as the air outside. Well this past Spring the pool has two machines that suck water up from the pool and spray it back in the pool, and it is cold. The water temperature of the pool stays relatively the same but the cold spray makes it oh so much more enjoyable.

Boy Scouts and Oreos

Saturday was the Cub Scout Kick-off Ice Cream Social. The new year brings a new neckerchief and a new badge. Kade is now a Bear. Very exciting. One of the games they played was Oreo stacking. Everyone got to play even the siblings. Brooklyn tied the winner stacking 13 Oreos before having her tower fall.

Twighlight...Rumbai Style

These are giant fruit bats that are nesting in an area next to the golf course here on camp. They "hang" around and sleep all day and then about 6:15 PM they all start to take off and head into the jungle in search of any fruit that is in season. They are HUGE! Their wing span can be over 5 feet and when they fly over our house each evening they remind us of the flying monkeys in "The Wizard of Oz."

They must have a migrating pattern as we did not see them last year at all. Some of the others who were here two years ago say they saw them about this time of year also. We are assuming it is a two year cycle. Regardless it is a pretty amazing site seeing these gigantic creatures up close in the wild.
