Winter Wonderland

One of things we missed most living in Sumatra was the changing seasons.  The kids have been waiting anxiously for snow.  It has been so close to snowing numerous times but so far no snow.  On Friday we had freezing fog and Sydney snapped some fun photos.

Our frozen back yard

We decided to not wait for snow and headed east to find it.  This picture was taken at the top of Steven's Pass on our way to Leavenworth.

Almost to Leavenworth

Leavenworth is such a fun town.  It was still dressed up for Christmas which made our trip even more fun.

It was Ice Fest in Leavenworth so there were lots of fun activities.

Brooklyn loving the snow.

Kade getting ready to go tubbing.

Brooklyn cracked me up.  Both John and I thought there was no way she would ride the tube.  She normally doesn't like risky activities but she loved tubbing.

Waiting in line for another turn on the tube hill.

Kade the snow boy!

Going up!

Leavenworth has the best public snow park.  Who wouldn't love being towed to the top of hill instead trudging up the hill in the snow? Seriously, if you live in Washington check it out.

The view at the snow park.

John and I enjoyed our time in the lodge sipping coffee and Chai Tea watching the kids tube.

Trip to the American Girl Doll Store

Question: What is the perfect evening for a seven year old girl?
Answer: A trip to the American Girl Doll store.

I knew that American Girl Store offered more than just dolls. But Oh.. Nellie! I had no idea how much it had to offer. There were tons of fun accessories to go with the dolls.
It was almost overwhelming.

Brooklyn settled on an outfit and some little rubber boots.  She also decided that Brooke (her doll) needed a trip to the Spa and it was a good time for her to get her ears pierced.

Dance

I often wonder what Brooklyn's birth parents were like.  This girl loves to be on stage.  There has to be a performer somewhere in her genetics.  Brooklyn started dance this fall.   She takes Ballet and Tap on Tuesday right after school.  It is a total rush to get her there on time.

Tuesdays are crazy because we go straight from Dance to church with a quick stop to grab Thai food on the way. Brooklyn loves Thai. It is definitely the eating highlight of her week.
