Life in the Jungle

We are on our third year living in the jungle of Sumatra, Indonesia. It has been a wild ride full of adventure. We love it. Well...love it most of the time.

Today was one of those days I did not love it quite as much as I normally do. While attending a birthday party with Brooklyn I felt some thing tickling my neck. I thought it might be an ant but to my horror it was a huge praying mantis. YUCK!!! I was really proud of myself for not losing it and screaming. I think it helped that I was surrounded by five and six year olds who thought it was the coolest thing ever.

The wild life on camp is just amazing. I just wish it would stay off my shirt.

Oh my goodness! How adorable is that little baby monkey!? I would MUCH rather bump into that in the jungle than some kind of hideous big insect! I love the warthogs (are they warthogs?) too, they're pretty cool.

Though I'm glad you did not post any photos of spiders, otherwise I might have had a heart attack!
