Locked up Abroad

On a random Sunday we were all getting ready to head to church when we asked Brooklyn to come out of her room to get her hair done. When she told us she was stuck we just figured she was stalling. In actuality, she had locked herself in her room.

The doors here all have locks that require keys. There are two problems with that. The 1st is that each of the doors needs a different key. The 2nd is that they did not give us all of the keys on our key ring for all of the doors. Brooklyn and Sydney's room is one of keys we do not have. To make it worse the only dead bolt lock in the house is that room. Once Brooklyn locked the door it was to hard for her to open it. Complicating matters even more was the fact that we have bars on the windows that do not open to the outside so we could not just take her out of the window.

So now we have to call camp housing to have them come with a janitor size key ring to try and find the matching key for the door. After going through about 100 keys and half an hour of not finding the correct one I was getting a little frustrated they did not have the right one. I asked the gentleman who brought the keys if I could break in. He gave me the go ahead; or at least I think he did, he didn't speak any English.

Well I took his head nod to my question as a yes and proceeded to have Brooklyn sit on her bed. I then went all "Cops" on the door. It was a great feeling getting to kick in the door. The pictures show the door frame after I was finished. I have been watching a lot of soccer over here so one kick was all it took. If you ever need a stress reliever I highly suggest kicking in a door. It dropped my blood pressure immensely.
Waiting for the key man to find the correct key.
What was left of the door frame after I let loose.
