On Wednesday we visited an orphanage we had never been to.  It was part of a large church with some great property attached to it.  They have about 39 kids at this place ranging in age from 2-20.  They were so excited to see us as we were just as excited to see them.  After a few minutes the ice was broken and they started to really interact with our kids.

We played games of tag, duck-duck-goose, and several ice breakers to start to learn names.  We had some puppets that we handed out that went over quite well with some of the kids.  Our team really enjoyed getting to see these little ones.  They even performed praise songs as a group complete with dancing!  They are some very talented kiddos.

While we were out playing our games an ice cream motorcycle pulled up (think ice cream truck but much smaller).  The guy saw us and the kids and thought we were an easy target.  He was right.  We ordered up 80 Popsicles for all of us.  The guy about fell over when we told him the number.  He said he would be back in 10 minutes with more.  After a little while he came back and we bought about three days worth of ice cream for him in one fail swoop.  All told it cost us $8.00.  You could not wipe the smiles off of the orphans or the ice cream man!

Later we sang for them and then they joined in.  Finally we pulled out the gifts of milk and fruit that we had brought along  They only get powdered milk at the orphanage so 36 liters of milk and 30 lbs. of fruit was greatly appreciated.  In fact one little guy was hugging the milk like a teddy bear as they were all clapping and cheering as we brought it out.  It was awesome to get to spend time with them and brighten their day showing His love to them.
