Orphanage Visit Day #2

Today we went to the orphanage to accomplish two things.  First we wanted to spend some more quality time with the children showing them His love.  Second we wanted to paint a mural for them which would help remind them not only of our visit but also of the story of Christ's ultimate sacrifice for our salvation.  Here are some pictures that will give you an idea of what went on.

The temporary tattoos we brought along were big hits.

Playing "Uno" in Bahasa.

Mariah helping to prep the wall for the mural.

Hannah and Campbell scrubbing away.

Hudson painting our tree where our team and the orphanage will place their hand prints.

Our boys making a hoop that this little one could shoot on.

Sarah playing with Lisa who loved to be picked up.

Great smiles on these two!

Julie with two of the girls as well as Ibu Anna who along with her husband, Pak Jonedy run the orphanage.

This little one had Jared wrapped around her finger!

Mikayla with two new friends.

Sarah and Samuel.

Mariah with little Hannah.

Justine free handing the mural after our projector idea failed to materialize.

Yep that is Mitchell under all of those kiddos.

Mike and his fan club.

Future Seahawk linebackers.

Callaway helping Lisa take pictures.

Luba and some friends posing.

Carter taking a break.

Looking good, Mike.

Starting to paint the mural.

Kianni helping to keep the orphanage kids out of the paint.

Little Paul thought it would be a good idea to paint Hudson's foot while he wasn't looking.

Lory after John helped her poor her paint into a cup.

John after opening some paint cans with a machete; when in Indonesia...

Ty loaning out his shades.

Melissa singing for some of the orphanage staff and students.

Our mural starting to come to life.  When it is finished later this week the colors of each building will tell the story of Christ's sacrifice for us. Each of the colors has symbolism.  For example black represents our sin while green represents Jesus' Resurrection from the dead, etc.

Groovy.

A picture of what the finished mural should look like.
