I am BACK!
I am sorry it has taken me so long to post. Life in the States has been a HUGE adjustment. I have missed blogging a lot. I know one day, I will look back on our blog and be glad I took the time to record the happenings of our lives. My New Year Resolution is to get back on the blogging train so keep checking up on me.
So many things have happened since I blogged last. School is going well for the kids. Brooklyn's teacher is AMAZING. Mrs. Burke is a ROCKSTAR in our book. She is the perfect balance of high energy and consistency. Kade is loving 5th grade. We could not have asked for a better fit for him. He has two amazing teachers. Mrs. Kelley and Mrs. Heigler. Kade played flag football this fall with his best buddies Trent and Aden. He is playing Basketball right now. Sydney loves Middle School. I think she is CrAzY. She has jumped into the world of sports with two feet. We have a practice or a game most nights. She is currently playing on an AAU basketball team and school volleyball. When she is not a practice she is hanging out with our church youth group or at cell group (bible study/support group).
John is coaching again. He has kept his coaching at the middle school level which has been a real blessing because him coaching High School right now would probably send me over the edge. John is adjusting to his new teaching position. Working with 8th graders has been a big adjustment, luckly he could not have asked for a better teaching partner.
Well, that leaves me. I LOVE my new job. I am teaching Special Education at Port Susan Middle School. I case manage 30 kids and teach three math classes and one support class. It is by far the most challenging job I have ever had in my life. My major goal for the year is to survive and stay out of the news. So far...so good. This job has come with a lot of challenges. Balance is by far the biggest one. I feel like God is really stretching me in this position. I have to say as challenging as this job is I am finding a lot of satisfaction in working with the kids. I laugh all day long. There is nothing funnier than the antics of middle school students.
Christmas break has been marvelous. I can't tell you how bad we were all in need of a break. We spent a lot of time relaxing and just hanging out as a family. Thursday we head back to school.
