We made one quick detour today before heading to the orphanage. We went to the local open air market called Pasir Bawa. Here you can find fruit, vegetables, fabric, t-shirts and oh yeah, lots and lots of dried fish. You can also see rats running around between the stalls. It was quite an experience for the senses. Especially the sense of smell! Many of the kids purchased Pekanbaru t-shirts to take home. All for less than $5. It was a lot of fun.
