Monday evening we took the kids to Siak river to enjoy corn on the cob roasted over coals and coated in either a salty, sweet or spicy coating. This is getting very "Indonesian." It was a great experience for the kids. They all really liked the corn and many of the tried the young coconut milk drink straight our of the coconut. It was a very fun time!
Our friend Barry who lives here was able to take us to this place. Thanks!
Throwing our corn cobs in the river. We are told it is a tradition. Who knows?
After dinner the kids were able to share with each other the fun t-shirts they purchased at the mall the night before. You may want to zoom in on some of the these. Almost all have some pretty good "lost in translation" issues. Many do not even remotely make sense, and yet people wear them.
Before bed we had Pastor Paul from the International Church lead a devotion for us. He is an amazing speaker and we are so glad he was able to speak to us. Thanks, Paul!
