Phuket Night Market

Last night we headed to the weekend night market. Think a carnival wrapped up in a flea market. Anything and everything was for sale. Things like shoes, sunglasses, rolex watches, clothing from all of the latest designers, oh and kitties and puppies. All, I am sure, authentic. The had some great street food like corn on the cob, sushi, and raw sugar cane. The even had a bar in the middle playing country music. That was a little surreal being we are in Thailand.

There were 16 of us who went last night. There are 3 other families staying at our hotel who are from Rumbai. That means the kids have lots of friends to play with while they are here.

While on our drive last night we passed an outlet mall with a Nike store and some other nice stores. We are going to check that out today.

Red Flag Day

A windy day in paradise is still a day in paradise. There was a big storm right before we got here in Phuket. This stirred up the ocean pretty good and the surf is quite a bit bigger than when we were here last year. They have red flags up to let you know that it is not safe to go swimming right in the surf. Luckily the pools here at the hotel are great so the kids aren't too discouraged.

We ate at our favorite restaurant, The Lotus, and had some awesome pineapple fried rice and for dessert mango sticky rice. It was delicious!

Tonight we went to the weekend street market. Kathi will post pictures tomorrow. It was quite the scene.

In just two days we will be heading back to Thailand. To say that were are excited is such an understatement. Here is what everyone is most excited about:

• John - Bacon and Sunsets (Yes, he said it in that order!)
• Kade - Going swimming everyday, water polo, the cool ocean breeze, and the pool bar coconut smoothies
• Brooklyn - Corn on the cob cooked on the beach and hugging MY baby elephant
• Sydney - Playing beach volleyball and getting a tan
• Kathi - Sunsets, pineapple rice, and a TRIP TO STARBUCKS!!

The Mystery Continues....

Pest control has been unable to catch our house guest. We can still hear him running around. Yuck!! Anymore guesses?

Does any know the number for PEST CONTROL?

So for the last few days we have been hearing noises on our roof. Well at least we thought they were coming from our roof as sometimes monkeys like to run across it. We started to question what was going on because monkeys are usually sleeping in the jungle at night and the sound started to seem as if it were coming from not on our roof but in our ceiling. Sure enough we heard scurrying (or slithering) sounds coming from our ceiling. We have called pest control and apparently you can see where a critter could get under the roof and into the space above our ceiling. They have set a trap to catch whatever is there. We have posted some things that it might be. Our question to you is what do you think it is? We will post the "results" as soon as we know them ourselves.
